In a recent article on the NY Times / Monster.com career site, Chuck Drake, Division Manager for Healthcare Recruitment at FGP International in Greenville, S.C., was quoted in an article regarding the state of Healthcare Recruitment in 2010.
"Many underperforming hospitals are looking at strategic alliances," Drake commented. "Consolidation should continue through 2010."
Drake also commented that the "physician and nursing shortage is not going to get any better any time soon - especially if about 25 million Americans are able to get affordable insurance. That will only exacerbate the problem. Most clinicians are patient focused so the hospitals that have a strong quality department (as evidenced by a broad base of metrics) will have a leg up on the recruiting front."
