Executive Search Options

FGP offers executive searches on either a contingency or retained basis. While there are pros and cons to both methods of recruiting, we will work with you to determine which choice is in your best interest.

1. Contingency

A Contingency Search is when a client agrees to consider any candidates presented by FGP (or other resources). The client only pays upon the hire of a candidate.

With a Contingency Client Search, our executive search group finds and recruits talent with the added benefit of a cost structure on a Contingency search basis. Below are some specific client benefits:

Accountability

You're paying for performance. We get paid by you based on results.

Exclusivity

This type of executive search works on a "contingency" basis and no exclusivity or commitment is required by the client or FGP.

Confidentiality

In this type of search arrangement, FGP maintains a level of anonymity for our client within the general marketplace. Note: Confidentiality can become an issue if there is more than one executive search firm recruiting for the same position, as there are multiple channels of communication concerning one search.

A retained search is when a client exclusively hires FGP as their executive search firm to conduct a search for a specific position.

In a business environment where an email inbox flooded with resumes or the fallout from a poor hire simply is not an option, a Retained Search brings a significantly greater level of consistency and quality to the table.

Commitment and Confidentiality

When you choose FGP to conduct a retained search, you immediately become our Search Consultant’s top priority. We work with you to help clarify the position being filled and to develop a candidate profile. Your consultant is dedicated to the search through completion, keeping you up to date on an established schedule. Our commitment to you extends beyond the actual hire; we guarantee your satisfaction with our candidate post-hire as well. In addition, a Retained Search makes an excellent choice for a company facilitating a confidential replacement. When a search is confidential, a retained search is the best choice for all involved.

Streamlined Communication

The last thing you need to do is spend weeks enduring multiple interviews only to find out that those candidates were nowhere near as qualified as they need to be. Your FGP consultant will represent you well in the marketplace so you can allocate your time to more pressing matters such as running your business or leading a team. You will receive clear and timely communication throughout the search process, including a bi-weekly status report as well as market intelligence on how your company and the position are viewed in the marketplace. You will also be presented with candidate resumes that include your FGP consultant’s interview notes and assessment against the position description.
