Our client, a respected local church in downtown Greenville, is seeking a warm, detail-oriented, and organized full-time Administrative Assistant to join their team.
This position plays a key role in supporting the clergy, managing office operations, and assisting with bookkeeping tasks. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, has excellent time management skills, and brings a proactive and professional attitude to the workplace each day.
Responsibilities:
- Answer phone calls and emails promptly and kindly
- Maintain the church membership database using Realm
- Manage church calendar in coordination with clergy
- Maintain confidentiality with sensitive church and member information
- Support clergy in communication and scheduling with church members
- Prepare weekly church bulletins
- Assist the Parish Council with reports, communication, and correspondence
- Support the events coordinator with scheduling and logistics
- Manage general office paperwork and organization
- Assist with onboarding new employees and maintaining employee records
- Perform basic bookkeeping:
- Write checks, make deposits, and record transactions in QuickBooks
- Reconcile multiple bank accounts
- Process payroll using QuickBooks
- Prepare and deliver church mailings
- Keep reception area clean and welcoming
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Friendly, approachable, and enjoys interacting with people
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Associate’s degree preferred but not required
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and QuickBooks (or similar accounting software)
- Ability to learn new systems (e.g., Realm database)
- Prior experience in customer service, bookkeeping, and administrative support required
- Trustworthy, discreet, and attentive to detail
Additional Details:
- Location: Downtown Greenville, SC (Free on-site parking provided)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Compensation: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour, based on experience
