- This is an engineering role not an analyst role, meaning they’re not doing much analysis or working with AI
- Candidates who want to do data science/math will not be satisfied with this role
- This role is a true engineer role with pipelines, ETL, and automating processes. They take manual processes and build the code so that a human doesn’t have to touch them.
- They are coding databases, so coding language knowledge is very important.
Our client is seeking an Automation & Data Engineer to build and enhance automation, data pipelines, and cloud-based systems. This role is developer-focused, hands-on with Python, SQL, and AWS, and ideal for someone who enjoys solving operational problems through technology.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain automation tools, APIs, and data pipelines using Python, MySQL, and AWS.
- Modernize manual or legacy processes into scalable, cloud-based solutions.
- Develop system architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment workflows.
- Implement logging, monitoring, and error-handling for automated processes.
- Support teams across the organization by translating business needs into technical solutions.
- Maintain documentation and provide occasional ad hoc reporting or data support.
- Identify improvement opportunities and contribute to the technical roadmap.
Required
- Hands-on experience with Python development.
- Strong SQL/MySQL skills.
- Familiarity with AWS services (Lambda, S3, or similar).
- Experience with Git and basic CI/CD practices.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non?technical users.
- Experience with cloud automation tools or serverless development.
- Exposure to BI/reporting tools.
- Knowledge of Agile or Lean methodologies.
- Experience with automation, RPA, or AI/ML tools is a plus.
