A well-known client of ours in Charleston, SC is seeking a Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Dental Assistant to join their team. Under the supervision of the clinic manager and the direction of client’s providers, this position provides clinical assistance and support to specialty resident providers in all aspects of patient care within the clinics.

This role is 100% onsite, full time, and direct hire opportunity. 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform four-handed dentistry techniques for resident providers during patient treatment, ranging from general dentistry to advanced specialty care requiring anesthesia.

  • Update and utilize the Electronic Health Record (EHR) for patient care.

  • Prepare operatories for dental and surgical procedures, ensuring accurate setup of instruments and equipment.

  • Clean and sterilize instruments, maintain infection control standards, and comply with OSHA regulations.

  • Acquire or assist in obtaining radiographs (periapical, panoramic, cephalometric, 3-D imagery, intraoral scans) following x-ray safety standards and provider direction.

  • Assist with patient transport and monitor surgical patients post-anesthesia to ensure safety and confidentiality.

  • Maintain dental supplies and inventory, process orders, and provide administrative support including MSDS maintenance and incident reporting.

  • Support other clinics and perform related duties as directed by the clinic manager. 

Qualifications: 

  • Experience in dental assisting and knowledge of dental procedures and instrumentation

  • Familiarity with infection control protocols and OSHA standards

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a clinical environment.  

  • Certified in Dental Assisting 

  • Experience with Electronic Health Records
