We are seeking a professional Payroll Analyst to join a growing team in Columbia, SC. This is a full time 3 month temporary assignment with the potential to go permanent. The position is hybrid and can be remote 2 days per week. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of multi-state payroll processing experience and will be comfortable with Oracle.

Job Description:
- Support the day-to-day Payroll functions for organizations of 5000+ employees over 32 associations ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing and internal controls
- Resolve complex payroll issues and discrepancies
- Preparing data and calculations for processing payroll adjustments
- Prepare and reconcile monthly reports including researching and adjusting discrepancies
- Balance multi-company payroll for quarterly and annual reporting
- Responsible for year-end closing and timely distribution of W-2 forms.
- Ability to anticipate problems and provide solutions or develop contingencies
- Stay up to date with U.S. payroll regulations, payroll tax laws, and compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and regulations and timely payroll tax setup and filings
Qualifications:
- Bachelors in accounting/business degree is preferred OR equivalent experience
- Payroll Certification is preferred
- A minimum of 5+ years processing multi-state payroll
- A strong knowledge of multi-state payroll rules and regulations
- A strong knowledge of FLSA hours and wage regulations
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook – manipulate lines, move data, construct simple formulas)
Hours:
- Monday to Friday 8 am to 5pm
- Mondays and Fridays are remote, Tuesdays – Thursdays are onsite in Columbia
- Temporary for 3 months then potential for permanent hire
Pay:
- $35.00 – $37.50 hourly
