Our team is looking to hire a Quality Engineer/Technician for a brick manufacturing company based out of Columbia, SC.

Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to company and OSHA mandated Environmental, Health and Safety policies
  • Manage and audit Quality Control Processes
  • Perform inspections across all stages of production (at the manufacturing floor)
  • Monitor incoming raw materials and participate in surface mining exploration and planning
  • Prepare and maintain test data for review
  • Identify areas of quality control improvement and implement new methods
  • Communicate quality concerns with urgency
  • Develop and maintain inspection reports
  • Investigate deviations and write exception documents as needed
  • Investigate customer complaints
  • Follow SOPs and standards to conduct intermediate and ASTM-specified brick quality tests
  • Use basic lab equipment and procedures in an organized and systematic approach to testing
  • Follow and teach co-workers to follow structured processes to control, monitor, and improve all activities contributing to the final product/service
  • Manage and update procedures, work instructions, and records to maintain consistency and compliance
  • Identify potential risks and implement preventive measures to reduce quality related incidents
  • Ensure employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their tasks effectively
  • Encourage a culture of ongoing enhancement through data-driven decision-making and feedback loops

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science related field
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Strong working knowledge of various mathematical concepts
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret information
  • Work with various staff members to evaluate and improve processes
  • Ability to seamlessly move between manufacturing and lab/office environment throughout workday
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office, especially Excel

 

Compensation/Benefits:

  • $60,000-$90,000 based upon experience

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday (8-5)
  • Up to 25% travel required
