Full?Time | Web Application Development | PHP 8 / Symfony

Overview
We are seeking a Senior Programmer to lead major feature development from concept through deployment. This role provides architectural direction, drives technical quality, and supports cross?team collaboration while delivering reliable, maintainable software solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of major features from initial concept through production deployment.
  • Design, build, test, debug, and document software following modern standards and best practices.
  • Own substantial code areas with minimal oversight and help define patterns for new and existing systems.
  • Produce maintainable, scalable solutions capable of handling complex technical challenges.
  • Provide architectural and technical guidance during planning and scoping sessions.
  • Lead incident response efforts from identification through resolution and help identify areas for optimization.
  • Promote collaboration across teams and create essential technical documentation.
  • Review critical pull requests and provide clear, actionable feedback.
  • Contribute to team standards and mentor developers at varying experience levels.
  • Participate in on?call rotations and follow established security and confidentiality practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Extensive hands?on experience delivering web applications end?to?end.
  • Expert in object?oriented programming with strong production experience in PHP 8 and the Symfony framework.
  • Comfortable working with or learning Ruby on Rails.
  • Strong knowledge of MySQL/Postgres, relational database design, and query optimization.
  • Familiarity with Hotwire/Stimulus and Tailwind CSS.
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL.
  • Strong understanding of architecture, design patterns, system design, and modern development workflows including version control, CI/CD, and monitoring/observability tools.
  • Experience leading incident response and root?cause analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem?solving, and communication skills.
