A family-owned residential construction company in College Station is seeking an Estimator to bring their projects to life by developing accurate, detailed cost projections. This role’s primary focus will be analyzing drawings and specifications, preparing takeoffs, and building comprehensive budgets that support timely and cost-effective homes. This role has a significant impact on planning and purchasing efforts and calls for someone who is analytical, organized, and comfortable collaborating across different teams.
 
This is a direct hire opportunity with a 100% onsite, full-time schedule.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Review architectural plans, scopes, and specs to develop precise cost estimates
  • Partner with project managers and teams to clarify scopes, align budgets, and support build schedules
  • Conduct site visits to evaluate construction conditions and gather essential data
  • Prepare detailed takeoffs and budget breakdowns using industry-standard estimating tools
  • Support purchasing and contract efforts through bid analysis and strategic recommendations
  • Monitor project costs, maintain historical data, and contribute to value engineering discussions
  • Stay current on industry trends, material pricing, and code/regulatory changes
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2+ years of estimating experience in residential construction
  • Proficient in relevant software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Excel, AutoCAD)
  • Strong knowledge of custom homebuilding processes, materials, and finishes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to guide clients through the design process
  • Highly analytical with attention to detail and accuracy
 
Benefits & Compensation:
  • $65,000 – $75,000, based on experience
