Our client in Spartanburg is seeking to hire a Data Entry Clerk to support their Purchasing Department with accurate purchase order input as well as updating and following up with appropriate departments as needed.

The ideal candidate will have strong typing and data entry skills.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Enter and maintain purchase orders, updating as needed due to pricing, quantity, or delivery changes.
  • Coordinate and track rehandle orders with the distribution center.
  • Follow up with vendors to confirm purchase orders and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Track incoming component shipments and release materials to production based on demand and inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with Receiving to resolve overages and discrepancies.
  • Update purchase orders with shipping and tracking information as it becomes available.
  • Work closely with Customer Service to ensure direct shipment orders are placed and processed accurately.
  • Monitor and follow up on sample orders to ensure timely delivery and complete documentation.
  • Prepare monthly vendor performance reports.
  • Complete all assigned tasks within deadlines and maintain clear, consistent communication.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment with a positive, team-oriented attitude.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office (Excel proficiency preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and analytical abilities.
  • Capable of working independently and handling confidential information.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to manage tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable working with numbers and processing data accurately.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and respond to task-related questions efficiently.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to climb stairs, use hands for handling materials, and sufficient vision and communication abilities to perform essential job functions.

Schedule:
  • Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm
  • 4 days in office, 1 day remote each week
Compensation:
  • $20-21/hour
