Summary: Our client is looking for an experienced Claims Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of workers’ compensation, vehicle accident, and general liability claims. This includes reporting, investigation, resolution, record-keeping, and potential litigation monitoring. The role ensures efficient claims handling, risk mitigation, and compliance with policies and procedures.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage claims from initial notification to closure.
  • Report new claims to insurance carriers and third-party administrators (TPAs).
  • Supervise investigations of employee injury claims, coordinating with departments and TPAs.
  • Communicate with physicians, attorneys, nurse case managers, and employees to monitor recovery and approve medical treatments within authority.
  • Make claims decisions, negotiate, and authorize settlements within defined authority.
  • Handle reimbursement calculations and coordinate with payroll and employees.
  • Review and improve claims procedures and protocols regularly.
  • Participate in accident review meetings as a representative.
  • Develop and implement claims-related policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Analyze claim trends and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records for all claims.
  • Provide support and guidance to employees and the public regarding claims.
  • Manage vendor insurance compliance and database of Certificates of Insurance.
  • Assist with financial and workers’ compensation audits.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for incident reporting, including after-hours.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in an insurance-related field) or equivalent experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of claims administration, South Carolina Workers’ Compensation law, and risk management principles.

 

Compensation: 

  • $60-70,000 annual salary

  • Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm 
  • Hybrid work schedule
