Our client is seeking an experienced Programmer to join its Medicaid IT Systems team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting critical healthcare systems while contributing to upcoming projects. You’ll work on meaningful initiatives that directly impact claims adjudication and payment processes while collaborating with a talented team of professionals. This is a fully remote position, with option to come onsite if preferred.
What You’ll Do:
- Enhance and maintain COBOL and ADS programs using IDMS databases
- Debug, unit test, and integrate coding changes to ensure accuracy and quality
- Partner with QA staff during testing phases and provide coding support as needed
- Participate in an on-call rotation (approximately one week per month or less)
- Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and contracted staff to deliver reliable solutions
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years’ experience with Mainframe, MVS Cobol, JCL, and IDMS databases
- 2+ years’ experience with CA-ADS
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across teams
- A problem-solver with adaptability, time management, and self-motivation skills
Preferred Experience:
- Changeman (version control)
- Medicaid (MMIS) or insurance-related claims programming background
