Our client, a national law firm, is seeking a Construction Paralegal for their Raleigh, NC office. This is a permanent position offering a hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Organize records, documents, correspondence, and files into a manageable format.
- Analysis and review of case documents in order to assist in deposition and trial preparation.
- Contact clients, witnesses, experts, third parties, and opposing counsel to obtain information pertinent to the case matter.
- Assist attorneys in research, drafting pleadings, subpoenas for records, public records requests, disclosures, interrogatories, discovery requests, and motions while under supervision.
- Work closely with legal assistants to schedule and calendar for attorney depositions and activities related to depositions (i.e. court reporter, witnesses, opposing counsel).
- Track all requests made for documents and records, follow up on status of requests, and verify receipt of documents and records.
- Record all billable and non-billable time spent on case files and client matters.
- Follow the ethical requirements as set forth by the North Carolina Rules of Professional Conduct.
Qualifications:
- A Paralegal certificate or degree is required
- Minimum of three years of construction law experience
- Experience handling electronic court filings
- Experience with e-discovery platforms and timekeeping experience utilizing iTimekeep and/or other timekeeping software is preferred
