A state agency is seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Program Coordinator II to support its Unclaimed Property Program. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that unclaimed funds are returned to their rightful owners efficiently and accurately. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience reviewing legal or financial documentation, and a commitment to public service.
This role involves reviewing and approving claims, conducting research to confirm ownership, resolving escalated customer issues, and assisting with outreach efforts to help reunite individuals and businesses with unclaimed assets.
Key Responsibilities

Review, process, and approve claims, including complex cases, in accordance with program guidelines.

Conduct thorough research and verify documentation to confirm legal ownership of unclaimed property.

Serve as a resource for other claims processors and review their work for accuracy and compliance.

Investigate and resolve escalated customer issues while recommending process improvements.

Assist the public, businesses, and other entities with inquiries via phone, email, and in person.

Support outreach initiatives to help locate and reconnect owners with their unclaimed property.

Provide guidance and assistance to colleagues to ensure division goals and performance standards are met.
Act as a backup for key functions within the division as needed.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of experience in public administration, claims examination, financial services, or a related field.

Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in claims auditing, mortgage or loan processing, or reviewing financial/legal documents.
- Familiarity with the Uniform Unclaimed Property Act or other compliance-driven programs.
Additional Information
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and perform standard office tasks.
- Full-time, in-office position with consistent weekday hours. M-F 8:30am to 5:00pm
- Weekly pay $20-27 per hour
