A vibrant, mission-driven local church in Columbia, South Carolina is seeking an experienced Executive Administrative Assistant to support the Lead Pastor and additional ministry staff. The church is deeply committed to faith, service, and community, and is looking for someone who shares these values and desires to contribute to a meaningful ministry environment.

Position Overview

The Executive Administrative Assistant will serve as the cornerstone of the Lead Pastor’s administrative operations—providing professional, proactive, and confidential support. This individual will manage calendars, correspondence, and communications while helping maintain balance, structure, and accessibility within a fast-paced ministry setting.

The ideal candidate is organized, emotionally intelligent, and able to anticipate needs with minimal supervision. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a purpose-driven, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level administrative support to the Lead Pastor and other ministry staff as assigned.

  • Manage calendars, meetings, and appointments while maintaining structure and prioritization.

  • Serve as a professional and approachable point of contact for staff, leaders, and congregation members.

  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of integrity.

  • Draft, proofread, and manage written correspondence in alignment with the Pastor’s communication style.

  • Anticipate needs and take initiative to resolve issues, improve systems, and enhance ministry effectiveness.

  • Coordinate meetings, prepare materials, and ensure timely follow-up on commitments.

  • Support general office operations and assist with special projects as needed.

  • Represent the mission and values of the church in all communications and interactions

Qualifications

Top 3 Must-Haves:

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.

  • High emotional intelligence and professionalism when supporting a direct and compassionate communicator.

  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of administrative or executive assistant experience (ministry or office environment preferred).

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; basic to intermediate Excel skills.

  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and adaptable to shifting priorities.

  • Alignment with the mission and values of a Christian church.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $45,000–$50,000 annual salary (based on experience)

Location: Forest Acres
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 8-5, Friday WFH option about 36-28 hours per week
