Corporate Controller | Manufacturing | High Ownership, Real Impact
A privately held manufacturing company in the Greenville area is seeking a hands-on Corporate Controller to lead accounting and serve as a close partner to the CFO and operations leadership. This role is well-suited for someone who wants to be embedded in the business, owns the numbers, understands operational drivers, and ensures leadership has clear, reliable financial insight.
This individual will fully follow the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements, and oversee inventory accounting, valuation, and variance analysis. The work is practical and hands-on, requiring comfort with reviewing journal entries and reconciliations, and working through issues to ensure accuracy and consistency.
The Controller will work closely with operations to ensure clean data flows into financial reporting and will act as the primary accounting resource for financial systems—maintaining data integrity and troubleshooting issues that impact reporting and visibility. While this is not an IT role, it does require strong technical curiosity and confidence in working through system-related challenges when numbers don’t tie.
In addition to hands-on ownership, this role includes leading and developing the accounting team, supporting audit and tax requirements, and serving as a trusted advisor to the CFO. The company offers a stable, value-driven environment and is seeking a Controller who wants to build something long-term, not step into a temporary cleanup.
Manufacturing experience, strong inventory and cost accounting knowledge, solid Excel skills, and a hands-on leadership style are essential. CPA or CMA preferred but not required.
If you’re a Controller who enjoys ownership, operational partnership, and long-term impact, this is worth a conversation.
