We are seeking a professional Project Accountant to join a growing team in Greenville, SC. This is a full time, onsite, Permanent/Direct Hire opportunity for a growing company. This individual will support and oversee the financial management of multiple construction projects from startup through closeout, ensuring accurate job cost tracking, timely billing and subcontractor payments, contractual compliance, and close collaboration with project, operations, and accounting teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities: 
  • Manage the financial oversight of assigned construction projects, including budgets, commitments, job costs, and change activity
  • Maintain accurate, reconciled project financial data across ERP and project management systems, resolving discrepancies as needed
  • Review, process, and track subcontractor pay applications, retainage, lien waivers, and payments while ensuring compliance and proper documentation
  • Serve as a primary financial point of contact for subcontractors and vendors, supporting invoicing requirements, ACH setup, and payment inquiries
  • Support project teams with financial analysis, reporting, audits, budget adjustments, and preparation for project review meetings
  • Partner with project, operations, and accounting teams to support project setup, improve processes, and ensure adherence to company policies
Qualifications:  
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting OR equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting; Construction experience preferred
  • Previous experience in Microsoft Excel; experience with Procore preferred
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written  
  • Excellent attention to detail
