Systems Support Specialist

New York, NY | On-site

About the Role

We’re seeking a Systems Support Specialist to support and maintain our server and infrastructure environment while also providing high-quality desktop and end-user support for our New York office. This role blends infrastructure ownership with hands-on user support and local IT project leadership.


What You’ll Do

Server & Infrastructure (Primary Focus)

  • Monitor and support Windows-based server environments
  • Perform daily system health checks (logs, resources, backups, scheduled jobs)
  • Manage system backups, recovery processes, and maintenance activities
  • Troubleshoot server, performance, and availability issues
  • Support infrastructure security controls and compliance standards
  • Participate in patching, upgrades, and scheduled maintenance windows
  • Maintain clear documentation and operational standards

IT Operations & Projects

  • Act as local lead for IT initiatives impacting the New York office
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams on deployments and upgrades
  • Plan and execute infrastructure and systems maintenance
  • Communicate status, risks, and outcomes clearly to stakeholders

Desktop & End-User Support

  • Provide professional Tier 1–2 support via phone, remote tools, and in person
  • Support Windows 11, Microsoft 365, and business applications
  • Install and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, phones, and A/V equipment
  • Manage hardware and software rollouts, upgrades, and inventory
  • Support new hires, moves, and offboarding processes

What You Bring

  • 3+ years supporting Microsoft-based IT environments
  • Experience with Windows Server, desktop operating systems, and M365
  • Solid understanding of backups, monitoring, and system reliability
  • Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage priorities independently and work collaboratively
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent practical experience
