About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support equipment redesign, process improvements, and capital projects within a manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving mechanical problems, collaborating with maintenance teams, and taking projects from concept through implementation.

The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with operations and maintenance teams to identify equipment issues, develop redesign solutions, coordinate with outside vendors, and manage projects through installation and startup.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement mechanical improvements to existing manufacturing equipment
  • Partner with maintenance teams to troubleshoot equipment issues and develop practical solutions
  • Create and modify engineering drawings using AutoCAD
  • Manage small to mid-sized capital and improvement projects from concept to completion
  • Coordinate with vendors and fabrication shops to obtain quotes, review bids, and oversee project execution
  • Support equipment installations by working with internal teams and external contractors
  • Participate in equipment redesigns, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with quality, operations, and engineering teams to ensure successful implementation of projects
  • Maintain project documentation and support change management processes

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (entry-level candidates with relevant co-op or internship experience will be considered)
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD
  • Experience with mechanical equipment design, redesign, or process equipment improvements
  • Project management experience with the ability to drive projects from start to finish
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Hands-on approach and self-starter mentality
  • Knowledge of welding, fabrication, and basic electrical/circuit systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with high-speed manufacturing or packaging equipment
  • Exposure to SolidWorks and/or Autodesk Inventor
  • Familiarity with Management of Change (MOC) or change control processes
  • Experience working with outside vendors, machine shops, and contractors
  • Six Sigma and/or Project Management certifications
  • Background in packaging, injection molding, automotive, or related manufacturing industries
