Mateo Lopez

Mateo is an IT Systems Administrator based in FGP’s Greenville office. In this role, he helps ensure the company’s technology infrastructure remains secure, reliable, and efficient while supporting the day-to-day technology needs of employees across the organization. He works closely with operations to manage key business platforms, provide technical support, oversee system administration, and maintain vendor partnerships. As the primary point of contact for technology-related needs, Mateo also supports and optimizes applicant tracking systems (ATS) to enhance productivity and drive operational success. In addition, he partners with leadership to identify opportunities for innovation, including the adoption of emerging technologies and AI-powered tools that support FGP’s continued growth.

Prior to joining FGP, Mateo built a strong background in information technology, supporting organizations through system administration, technical support, and operational technology initiatives. He is passionate about helping others succeed through technology and enjoys solving complex problems, streamlining systems, and creating positive user experiences.

What is your favorite game or sport to watch and play?
I really like watching basketball and football, but soccer is my #1 sport. I am a huge fan of FC Barcelona. I played in high school and college, and I currently play in recreational leagues here in Greenville! I also had the opportunity to coach at Spartanburg Day School, which was a very cool opportunity to experience the sport from a different perspective.

What’s your favorite travel destination, or where would you like to go?
I love visiting my family in Medellin, Colombia. Beautiful views, great food, and a fun nightlife environment are all the reasons I love to recommend Medellin to anyone who is looking for their next travel destination. Aside from Colombia, my dream has always been to go to Italy and to Japan as well!

If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to and why?
I would definitely travel to experience the 80’s. The music, the styles, and the overall vibe are all something I would like to experience firsthand.
