Laura Pettit

Laura Pettit is a Consultant for the HR Consulting division at FGP. She partners with organizations to drive clarity, progress, and results on a variety of projects and initiatives, including organizational strategy development and implementation, leadership development and coaching, talent optimization, board effectiveness, succession planning, executive assessment, and operational optimization. Her experience spans a wide range of industries and organizational sizes—from small, family‑owned businesses and mission‑driven nonprofits to large, complex public companies. Laura is energized by meaningful collaboration and approaches her work with a deep desire to positively support mission-focused organizations and ultimately impact lives.

Prior to joining FGP, Laura worked in non-profit consulting as well as in higher education in a variety of roles. Laura holds a B.A. in Biblical Studies & Theology from Wheaton College (IL) and a M.A. in Biblical History and Geography from Jerusalem University College. She and her husband, Michael, lived and worked in Jerusalem for six years.

What do you love to do outside of work?

My go-to is pretty much anything to do with arts or crafting: baking and decorating cakes, painting, pottery, embroidery, etc. – I love it all. I also enjoy spending time reading, exploring new places around town, and gardening.

What’s the last book you read and what did you think?
I recently finished “Cloud Cuckoo Land” by Anthony Doerr. It’s beautifully written, the story is intricate and unique, and it has a perfect amount of suspense to make it nearly impossible to put down. There are not a ton of books I would reread, but this is definitely one of them.

If you could have any other fantasy career, what would it be and why?
I would be a museum curator of ancient Near Eastern history and culture at the Smithsonian. I have always loved the aesthetic and artistry of museums, plus history and archaeology have been life-long passions of mine.
