Are you desiring to live on mission and impact the local community through your work? A local nonprofit organization serving middle and high school students from under-resourced communities is hiring an Associate Director. This position supports the Executive Director in day-to-day operations, staff management, programming, and external communications. The Associate Director is expected to step in with immediate effectiveness, demonstrating confidence in decision-making, willingness and eagerness to lead, and the ability to deliver difficult news when needed with professionalism and care.
 
This is a direct hire, onsite position in Greenville, SC. During the school year, hours are 11am-7pm from Monday to Thursday. Standard hours on Fridays and summer months.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Support the Executive Director in coordinating and executing all programming, events, and strategic initiatives
  • Prioritize and advocate for the emotional, social, academic, and physical well-being of all Program Attendees
  • Provide effective day-to-day management of youth programming, ensuring staff, volunteers, and logistics are operating smoothly and cohesively
  • Step into leadership with clarity and confidence, exercising sound judgment when faced with challenges or urgent decisions
  • Communicate with transparency, compassion, and authority, including when delivering difficult news or addressing conflict
  • Foster a culture of positive teamwork, encouraging collaboration, accountability, and mutual respect across the staff and volunteer team
  • Represent the organization with professionalism and enthusiasm in public settings, including meetings with schools, partners, donors, and community events
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold high ethical and professional standards
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Proven management expertise, including team leadership, delegation, and accountability
  • 3+ years of experience working with middle or high school youth
  • CPR and First Aid Certified (or willing to obtain)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
  • Familiarity with social media platforms
 
Benefits & Compensation:
  • $55,000 – $65,000
  • PTO + school holiday schedule
