As the General Sales Manager, you are the driving force behind the strategic sales performance and quota achievement within your assigned marketplace. You are to lead with purposeful strategies, collaborating with other members of the local leadership, service, and operations teams to develop, execute, and deliver new business strategies and solutions, ensuring unparalleled success in market revenues.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:
 
  • Lead a team of Sales Managers and their respective sales teams with purposeful approaches to consistently exceed sales quotas.
  • Set and manage expectations for accountable results of sales managers, ensuring performance against quota, key performance indicators, and strategic sales initiatives.
  • Provide written feedback about performance versus goals, offering clear directions for improvement and recovery actions.
  • Actively engage with existing and prospective customers with strategies to drive business growth and retention.
  • Incorporate corporate and enterprise support resources assertively for strategic account management and development.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends to find and capitalize on potential opportunities for market expansion.
  • Collaborate with branch sales, operations, and service teams to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Educate the Sales Management team on setting up, sourcing, and recruiting a robust talent pipeline through engagement with professional business networks.
  • Report progressively on sales activity and results through comprehensive prospect pipeline analysis and effective sales participation management.
  • Ensure all sales positions meet all training requirements and standards.
  • Implement formalized performance improvement initiatives to address non-performance, as necessary.
  • Create and Lead Business strategies across assigned market.
 
RELATIONSHIPS:
 
  • Report directly to the General Manager or Branch President responsible for the region, showing strong leadership and accountability.
  • Serve as the primary interface for prospective and existing customers and branch personnel, acting assertively as the executive focal point.
  • Forge essential connections with branch sales, administration, and service teams, while also using corporate support resources to ensure unmatched customer satisfaction.
 
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree desired or proven sales leadership experience and recommendations.
  • 7+ years of proven outside sales experience, with 3-5+ years of proven sales management experience preferred.
  • Experience selling document technology services and solutions preferred.
  • Demonstrated enterprise selling skills, with a history of successfully engaging with key decision-makers.
  • Ability with educate the use of virtual platforms like MS Teams and experience working strategically with Salesforce.com or similar CRM systems.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% to sales branch locations within the territory.
