Role Overview

As a Legal Assistant, you’ll support our attorneys through case preparation and client-centered administrative duties. Ideal for someone with a law degree or paralegal coursework, eager to grow in a fast-paced, supportive legal environment.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and file legal documents: pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and correspondence.

  • Assist with case management: organizing files, updating status trackers, and calendaring deadlines.

  • Perform client intake: obtain information, update case files, and communicate updates empathetically.

  • Manage court filings and coordination with filing systems and courthouses.

  • Support attorneys with legal research, including case law and statutory analysis.

  • Coordinate with external parties (e.g., medical providers, adjusters) for documentation.

  • Attend internal team meetings and take case notes.

  • Maintain deadlines using calendars and docketing systems.

  • Monitor, respond to, and direct client emails and calls.

  • Support billing, records management, and other operational tasks as needed.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in legal studies, English, or related field) or paralegal certificate.

  • 0–2 years’ experience in a law firm or legal setting.

  • Strong research, writing, and organizational skills.

  • Familiarity with legal terminology and court procedures.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn legal software.

  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a collaborative environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience with case management systems or legal document software.

  • Exposure to personal injury, workers’ compensation, or disability law is a plus.
