Position Overview

The Lien Specialist is responsible for managing and processing liens on personal property, non-titled equipment, and other assets. This position ensures all lien-related activities comply with state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail, communication skills, and prior experience in finance, legal, or lien processing environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and verify lien documents for accuracy, completeness, and legal compliance.

  • Coordinate with internal teams such as legal, accounting, and operations to manage and resolve lien matters.

  • Ensure liens are properly perfected and recorded with the appropriate agencies.

  • Investigate and resolve disputes regarding lien validity, ownership, or documentation discrepancies.

  • Process lien releases promptly upon payment or settlement.

  • Maintain organized and compliant lien records.

  • Stay current on state and federal lien laws, regulations, and filing procedures.

  • Communicate with clients, financial institutions, and legal representatives regarding lien status or resolution.

  • Assist in managing outstanding liens connected to insurance claims or legal settlements.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.

  • 2–4 years of experience in finance, lending, or lien processing.

  • Knowledge of lien laws, filing requirements, and documentation standards.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.
