A law firm in Spartanburg is seeking a Litigation Paralegal with personal injury and workers compensation experience. This firm is known for a positive work culture with strong team dynamics. Office hours are 8:30am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. 100% in-office. If you enjoy managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, this role may be a great fit for you.
 
A successful candidate in this role would enjoy all phases of the personal injury litigation process to include legal research, legal document development, pleadings, motions, and discovery requests. If you are highly organized and pride yourself on process and calendar management, you’ll be a great addition to this team. A normal day includes behind the scenes paperwork with a mix of outbound client interaction as well. It is a great blend of heads down responsibilities mixed with client communication. A portion of the role includes being present at necessary court hearings as well; this is a great opportunity to experience and support the litigation process.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Assist attorneys in all phases of personal injury litigation
  • Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests
  • Organize and maintain case files, including client correspondence, medical records, and other relevant documents
  • Schedule appointments, depositions, and court hearings
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel in a professional manner
  • Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Prepare summaries of legal documents
  • Attend court hearings as needed with attorney
 
Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Experience as a paralegal in litigation and personal injury law
  • Proficient in using document management systems and legal research databases
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all work performed
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Familiarity with data entry and recordkeeping processes
