JOB DESCRIPTION:
In general, all Maintenance Technician roles are required to plan and perform all maintenance and repair operations necessary to keep equipment, machinery, and tools in good operating condition; diagnose problems and work in many varied and diversified capacities required in general maintenance, overhaul, and repair of plant equipment processes and facilities. Periodically perform or assist others in routine to moderately complex repairs or installation of automatic electrical and electronic controls. 

A Day in the Life Typically Includes: 
Work involves a complete range and wide variety of duties involving diversified and difficult work using technical electronic diagnostics, computer equipment, and various precision instruments; requiring much care to effectively and efficiently diagnose, dismantle, repair, lubricate, reassemble, or otherwise work on general maintenance. 
Diagnose causes of malfunctions by sight, sound, or actions of machinery and equipment. 
Start, observe, operate, or otherwise activate equipment to detect or verify the correction of malfunction. 
Inspect, adjust, clean, or lubricate equipment as preventive maintenance. Tear down, replace, repair, install, and assemble equipment, parts, components, and accessories. 
Adjust mechanisms such as feed, speed, power input, or output. 
Operate various mechanical and electronic test equipment. 
Specific knowledge of pumps, conveyor systems, motors, and drives is required in the performance of regular or assigned duties. 
Remain current in technical changes or equipment designs by attending classes as needed. 
Work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, and overtime as scheduled or required. 
Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment and completing all required training. 

Travel Requirements:
Most of the time travel will be within the SE region of the US (40%), however there is some occasional overnight travel depending on the project which can require you to be away for 1-2 weeks tops depending on how quickly the job wraps up. A company vehicle, lodging, & daily per-diem are being provided as well as paid travel time. 



Education and Experience you will need: 
  • Minimum High School or GED required. 
  • Able to read mechanical drawings for fabrication and or assembly of equipment. 
  • Able to complete precise layouts for new equipment and or relocated equipment. 
  • Able to use all hand tools of trade as needed. 
  • Millwright to have rigging experience. Bull rigging experience is a plus. 
  • Able to operate carry deck cranes, heavy industrial rigger forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, and high-reach lulls. 
  • Millwright to have experience using heavy-duty machine rollers and toe-jacks.
  • Experience using air bearings is a plus. 
  • Experience using calipers & micrometers for precise measurement of shafts and or mechanical assemblies. 
  • Pipe fitting experience of all types of pipework, e.g., screw, weld, copper, or glue joints. 
  • Welding experience that includes mig, tig, and stick welding experience a plus. 
  • Millwright to have experience with removal & installation of all bearing types. 
  • Ability to fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerances. 
  • Millwright to have experience using oxyacetylene torch for flame cutting and heating steel. 
  • The ability to use auto-leveling surveying equipment is a plus. 
  • Ability to work in or out of town when needed.
