Our well known client in Charleston, SC is seeking an Orthodontic Dental Assistant IV to join their team. This role provides clinical assistance and support to multi-specialty faculty providers in all aspects of patient care within their dental clinics. The ideal candidate will have experience in chairside assisting, operatory setup, radiographic imaging, and patient care, while maintaining compliance with infection control and safety standards. This role is direct hire and 100% onsite in Charleston, SC. 

Responsibilities

  • Perform chairside assisting using four-handed dentistry techniques for faculty providers across all dental specialties, including advanced procedures requiring anesthesia.
  • Prepare and sterilize operatories, instruments, and equipment for dental and surgical procedures.
  • Acquire or assist in obtaining radiographs (periapical, panoramic, cephalometric, 3-D imagery, intraoral scans) following safety standards.
  • Assist patients with transport and monitor surgical patients post-anesthesia while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Manage dental supplies and inventory, maintain MSDS documentation, and report equipment issues.
  • Collaborate with other clinics and perform related duties as directed by the clinic manager.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Dental Assisting certification preferred.
  •  Radiology certification (as required by state regulations).
  • Previous dental assisting or clinical support experience preferred; familiarity with Electronic Health Records and dental software.
  • Knowledge of dental procedures, instrumentation, and infection control protocols.
  • Ability to perform radiographic imaging safely and accurately.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication and patient care abilities.
