Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced Print Production Manager to lead the Technical Support team in maintaining and repairing book production and distribution equipment. This role oversees both mechanical and electrical maintenance, manages preventive and corrective programs, troubleshoots breakdowns, ensures safety compliance, and drives equipment performance optimization.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or technical certification in automation, controls, or electronics.
- 6+ years of related industry experience.
- 3+ years of management experience.
- Proven maintenance management experience; automation and controls expertise.
- Proficiency with Fiix or similar CMMS.
- Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and supervisory skills.
- Ability to perform physical aspects of the role (medium exertion level).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in digital press printing or high-speed production environments.
- PLC programming/troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
- Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Lean manufacturing and 5S experience.
- Spare parts inventory management and vendor coordination experience.
- CAPEX project and equipment upgrade experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee maintenance plans for all Print Shop and Press Distribution Center (PDC) equipment.
- Manage and participate in troubleshooting and repairs to minimize production downtime.
- Ensure safety compliance; conduct inspections and promote safety awareness.
- Administer the Fiix maintenance system for work orders and preventive maintenance scheduling.
- Manage spare parts inventory to minimize downtime.
- Monitor and improve OEE, MTBF, and MTTR.
- Track KPIs and maintain action plans.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify process/cost improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance work.
- Assist with quality control, work standards, compliance, and 5S practices.
