Systems Support Specialist

About the Role
We’re seeking a Systems Support Specialist to support and maintain our server and infrastructure environment while also providing high-quality desktop and end-user support for our New York office. This role blends infrastructure ownership with hands-on user support and local IT project leadership.
What You’ll Do
Server & Infrastructure (Primary Focus)
- Monitor and support Windows-based server environments
- Perform daily system health checks (logs, resources, backups, scheduled jobs)
- Manage system backups, recovery processes, and maintenance activities
- Troubleshoot server, performance, and availability issues
- Support infrastructure security controls and compliance standards
- Participate in patching, upgrades, and scheduled maintenance windows
- Maintain clear documentation and operational standards
IT Operations & Projects
- Act as local lead for IT initiatives impacting the New York office
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams on deployments and upgrades
- Plan and execute infrastructure and systems maintenance
- Communicate status, risks, and outcomes clearly to stakeholders
Desktop & End-User Support
- Provide professional Tier 1–2 support via phone, remote tools, and in person
- Support Windows 11, Microsoft 365, and business applications
- Install and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, phones, and A/V equipment
- Manage hardware and software rollouts, upgrades, and inventory
- Support new hires, moves, and offboarding processes
What You Bring
- 3+ years supporting Microsoft-based IT environments
- Experience with Windows Server, desktop operating systems, and M365
- Solid understanding of backups, monitoring, and system reliability
- Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills
- Ability to manage priorities independently and work collaboratively
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent practical experience
