Job Description
A well established law firm in Columbia SC is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Temp File Clerk to support a large document-organization project. This role involves working independently to sort, identify, and properly organize large volumes of physical files stored in multiple rooms, as well as preparing documents for digital scanning.
The ideal candidate is someone who can figure things out independently, stay focused with minimal oversight, and bring structure to a complex and disorganized filing environment. Candidates with a legal background or experience working with legal files are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities

Sort, identify, and organize large volumes of physical files stored in multiple boxes and rooms.

Locate and match files with corresponding documents prior to scanning.

Maintain and update both digital and physical filing systems for easy retrieval.

Accurately enter data into company databases and digital systems.

Scan, copy, label, and organize documents for digital storage.

Audit existing files to ensure accuracy and adherence to established filing standards.

Safeguard confidential and sensitive information at all times.

Perform general administrative support tasks as needed.
Qualifications

Proficiency with computers and office software (Microsoft Office Suite required).

Comfortable working with digital filing systems and electronic records management.

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.

Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and manage time effectively.

Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Experience in legal environments or familiarity with legal documentation preferred.

Previous administrative, records, or file-management experience is a plus but not required.
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Pay: $17–$18 per hour, potential for $19-20 with legal experience
