Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients, verify information, and collect necessary forms and payments
- Schedule and confirm appointments and assist with general questions
- Answer and route calls promptly, take accurate messages, and provide reminders
- Communicate professionally with patients, families, and external providers
- Accurately enter and update patient information in the EHR system
- Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with HIPAA standards
- Assist providers with chart preparation and uploading necessary documents
- Monitor and manage electronic task queues (messages, referrals, lab results, etc.)
- Process all medical record requests in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
- Fax records, referrals, and other documentation to outside providers and facilities
- Retrieve, scan, and upload medical documents into patient charts
- Track and ensure timely completion of all faxed and requested documentation
- Support clinical staff with administrative tasks as needed
- Maintain organized filing systems, logs, and documentation workflows
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvement
- Assist with office projects such as inventory management or patient communication initiatives
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a medical office, healthcare setting, or customer service role
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (Epic, Athena, eClinicalWorks, etc.)
- Strong communication, customer service, and multitasking skills
- Must maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with professionalism and accuracy
- Knowledge of insurance verification and standard medical terminology
- Comfort working with technology, scanners, fax systems, and multi-line phone systems
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly pay $18-$20hr
- Schedule: Monday – Thursday 8 – 5 and Friday 8 – 12
- Temporary assignment lasting 30-days
