The Verification Specialist is responsible for conducting employer verification research to confirm consumer employment details. This role involves daily phone-based outreach to HR departments, cross-referencing online information, and documenting all findings with accuracy and speed. The position is highly metric-driven and requires someone who is confident on the phone, detail?oriented, and efficient in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct investigations using Facebook, LinkedIn, and other online resources to locate accurate employment information for assigned consumers.
  • Perform outbound calls to employers’ HR departments to verify employment status, including:
    • Whether an individual is or was employed at the company
    • Dates of employment
    • Last date worked, if applicable
  • Treat the process similarly to a professional reference check—strictly factual verification, not collections activity.
  • Spend the majority of the day on the phone verifying employment details with HR teams.
  • Maintain a confident, clear, and professional communication style—this role requires a strong phone presence and comfort with high call volumes.
  • Accurately record all information obtained during verifications in the company’s internal systems.
  • Follow structured processes and guidelines to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics around completed verifications.
  • Receive a daily list of consumers to investigate — no need to generate or source leads independently.
  • Research each assigned individual, uncover necessary employment details, and provide complete, verified information back to the Investigations team.
Requirements:
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, OneNote).
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be flexible within multiple work types and enjoy working with staff of all levels.
  • Average analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment.
  • Must be punctual and reliable.
  • Must be comfortable with meeting strict deadlines and KPIs.
Compensation/Benefits:
  • $18/hour
  • Temp-to-perm
  • FGP offers contract employees benefits including minimum essential coverage insurance, a fixed indemnity plan and a 401k retirement plan once eligibility requirements are met.
