The Verification Specialist is responsible for conducting employer verification research to confirm consumer employment details. This role involves daily phone-based outreach to HR departments, cross-referencing online information, and documenting all findings with accuracy and speed. The position is highly metric-driven and requires someone who is confident on the phone, detail?oriented, and efficient in a fast-paced environment.

- Conduct investigations using Facebook, LinkedIn, and other online resources to locate accurate employment information for assigned consumers.
- Perform outbound calls to employers’ HR departments to verify employment status, including:
- Whether an individual is or was employed at the company
- Dates of employment
- Last date worked, if applicable
- Treat the process similarly to a professional reference check—strictly factual verification, not collections activity.
- Spend the majority of the day on the phone verifying employment details with HR teams.
- Maintain a confident, clear, and professional communication style—this role requires a strong phone presence and comfort with high call volumes.
- Accurately record all information obtained during verifications in the company’s internal systems.
- Follow structured processes and guidelines to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics around completed verifications.
- Receive a daily list of consumers to investigate — no need to generate or source leads independently.
- Research each assigned individual, uncover necessary employment details, and provide complete, verified information back to the Investigations team.
Requirements:
- Understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, OneNote).
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be flexible within multiple work types and enjoy working with staff of all levels.
- Average analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work and thrive in a team environment.
- Must be punctual and reliable.
- Must be comfortable with meeting strict deadlines and KPIs.
- $18/hour
- Temp-to-perm
