A leading Southeast law firm, is looking to hire a Workers Compensation Legal Assistant to support attorneys in their Charlotte, NC office. This role supports attorneys in workers’ compensation and defense litigation, helping to deliver exceptional client service. This opportunity is Temp-to-Hire and is a remote position. The ideal candidate will be able to come to the Charlotte office for occasional meetings and depositions. 

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Manage attorney calendars and schedule hearings
  • Prepare legal documents, correspondence, and reports
  • Organize case files and maintain court dockets
  • Communicate with clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel
  • Assist attorneys with hearing preparation and miscellaneous projects
Qualifications: 
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience; Bachelor’s preferred
  • 1–3 years of legal experience (workers’ comp or defense litigation is ideal)
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Westlaw and case management software preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information and work independently
Benefits & Compensation: 
  • $19.23 hr – $26.44 hr 
  • 37.5-hour workweek and flexible schedule
