Our client, an established law firm, is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Case Manager to join their team. Manages workers’ compensation cases from beginning, case opening, to end, case closing. Responsible for frequent client contact with a strong emphasis on delivering exceptional customer service. Assists and supports attorneys through all the phases of the case so that they may handle legal matters.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Receives and returns clients’ calls, faxes, and emails within 24 hours.
  • Provides backup coverage to complete intakes when intake staff are unavailable.
  • Reviews intake documents to ensure all information necessary to open a case in Needles has been gathered (and takes the appropriate steps to obtain any missing information) and formally opens the file.
  • Research coverage for workers’ compensation claims. This information must be entered into Lawbase before completing the case opening process.
  • Responsible for generating required workers’ compensation forms and documents through Lawbase and Worldox, transcribing dictation, revising or drafting documents as directed by supervising attorneys including, but not limited to, briefs, APAs, correspondence, demands, settlement documents and correspondence in a timely fashion.
  • Follow-up on doctor questionnaires
  • Process and submit client mileage and prescription reimbursement forms. Calls adjusters to follow-up for client mileage and TTD checks.
  • Submit mileage reimbursement request for attorneys.
  • Keep thorough documentation of notes in Needles and complete various tasks as assigned by attorneys in a timely fashion.
  • Manage the scheduling of attorney calendars for client meetings, doctor meetings, IMEs, Vocational and Psych evaluations, depositions, mediations, hearings, etc. and preparing notification correspondence to all parties.
  • Follow up and procure IME and FCE reports prior to scheduling mediations.
  • Maintain custody of the physical file. File and update records, correspondence and file documents in an orderly and organized manner per established office procedures. Maintain a clean and orderly work area. Closing out files including sending the final letter and gutting the file.
