We are seeking an experienced Payroll Analyst to join a team based in Greenville, SC. This is a temporary 5 month assignment. This role can be done 100% remote. The ideal candidate will have experience working in multi-state payroll and will have strong Workday and Excel skills.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Processing & Reporting
  • Process semi-monthly payroll for hourly and salaried employees
  • Review, verify, and post employee time and payroll inputs including wages, overtime, bonuses, severance, and deductions
  • Upload payroll data for new hires, terminations, and employee status changes
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee payroll records
  • Manage garnishments through third-party vendors
  • Prepare payroll reports and support internal and external audits
  • Complete monthly and quarterly payroll reporting, including BLS submissions
  • Participate in payroll system testing, updates, and process improvement initiatives
Stakeholder & Vendor Collaboration
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors to ensure timely and accurate payroll, tax registrations, and remittances
  • Partner daily with HR, Accounting, and Total Rewards to ensure proper coordination of pay, benefits, and deductions
Payroll Taxes & Compliance
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
  • Monitor and implement changes related to tax law updates
  • Support year-end processes including W-2 preparation and quarterly tax filings
  • Assist with 401(k) audits by providing payroll and tax documentation as needed
Policy, Controls & Documentation
  • Review and recommend improvements to payroll, tax, and benefits procedures
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and audit controls
  • Create and manage processes for auditing timekeeping records for compliance
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
  • 2–5 years of payroll processing experience
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems and payroll procedures
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies while maintaining confidentiality
  • Solid understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent certification
  • Experience in consumer finance or banking environments
  • Experience with Workday payroll and time & attendance systems
Hours:
  • Monday to Friday (8am to 5pm) EST
  • Can be 100% remote
Compensation & Additional Information:
  • $35 – $37 hourly
  • Temporary contract assignment – June to November 2026
