We are working with a growing distribution company in Spartanburg that is looking to add a detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to their team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to keep operations running smoothly and wants to grow within a stable environment. The Purchasing Assistant is responsible for keying, maintaining, and following up on data for all purchase orders to outside vendors. This is a full-time, contract opportunity that is projected to last at least 3 months.
Responsibilities:
- Enter and maintain purchase orders with outside vendors
- Update orders as needed for pricing, quantities, and delivery dates
- Track and follow up on purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery
- Communicate with vendors to confirm order details and timelines
- Work closely with Receiving to resolve any order discrepancies
- Partner with Customer Service to ensure accurate direct shipments
- Place sample orders and assist with vendor instructions
- Support overall purchasing and distribution operations
Requirements:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Proficiency with data entry and basic computer systems
Benefits & Compensation:
- $20-$21.50
