A growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Plant Accountant to support financial operations in Mills River, NC. This hands-on accounting role serves as a key business partner to plant leadership, ensuring accurate cost accounting, inventory reporting, financial analysis, and compliance while identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and profitability. This is a full time, 3+ month temporary assignment.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee cost accounting activities, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variance analysis
  • Lead month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting
  • Prepare and analyze plant financial results, providing insights into operational and cost performance
  • Partner with plant leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making
  • Develop financial models and analyses to support pricing, capital investments, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitor inventory accuracy through cycle counts and physical inventories, resolving discrepancies as needed
  • Manage fixed asset accounting, capital expenditure tracking, and depreciation schedules
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies
  • Support internal and external audits while identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and efficiencies
  • Serve as a key financial business partner to operations leadership, translating operational activity into actionable financial insights
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, standard costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variance analysis
  • Experience working with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and internal control principle
  • Experience supporting contract manufacturing operations
Hours:
  • Temporary 3+ month contract assignment
  • Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • 100% onsite position
Compensation & Benefits:
  • $35 – $42 hourly
