A community-focused nonprofit organization in Greenwood, South Carolina is seeking a Benefits Coordinator to support employee benefits programs and contribute to a positive employee experience. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys helping employees navigate benefits, ensuring compliance, and supporting a variety of human resources functions in a mission-driven environment.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Administer and maintain employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and terminations
  • Conduct new hire benefits orientations and assist employees with benefit-related paperwork
  • Review and process benefits documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations
  • Coordinate annual open enrollment activities and employee communications
  • Process retirement distributions, hardship requests, disability claims, workers’ compensation claims, and related reporting
  • Maintain accurate employee benefit records and payroll deduction information
  • Generate, reconcile, and process monthly benefits invoices and related reports
  • Manage benefit terminations and provide continuation coverage information for eligible employees
  • Serve as a trusted resource for employees regarding health, retirement, and ancillary benefit programs
  • Support HR operations by following established policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
 
Qualifications:
  • College degree required
  • 2+ years of experience benefits administration
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and HR-related software systems
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service abilities
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
 
Compensation & Benefits:
  • $50,000
