We are seeking a professional Payroll Operations Lead to join a growing team in Clemson, SC. This is a full time, permanent/Direct Hire OR Temp to Hire position.  This will be a HYBRID-REMOTE opportunity. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of high-volume, multi-state payroll experience and will have strong Workday knowledge.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the full payroll processing cycle, ensuring timely and accurate payroll completion
  • Perform payroll calculations and enter payroll-related data and adjustments
  • Review, analyze, and resolve payroll audit exceptions and discrepancies
  • Run and manage retroactive payroll reports and ensure appropriate corrections are processed
  • Perform final payroll validation, error review, payroll completion, and payroll settlement activities
  • Process off-cycle and on-demand payroll payments as needed
  • Administer withholding orders, tax directives, lock-in letters, and other payroll compliance requirements
  • Manage non-cash payroll transactions and related reporting activities
  • Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 data validation, review, and cleanup
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure payroll processes remain accurate, compliant, and efficient
Qualifications:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Human Resources, or a related field (Preferred)
  • Workday experience is REQUIRED
  • 3+ years of payroll processing, payroll operations, or payroll administration experience in a high-volume, multi-state environment
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax withholding requirements, and payroll compliance practices
  • Experience processing payroll for large employee populations
  • Experience managing complex payroll calculations, adjustments, and audit reviews
  • Proficiency with payroll systems and related reporting tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Hours:
  • Monday – Friday (Standard Business Hours)
  • 37.5 hour work week
  • HYBRID – REMOTE SCHEDULE
Compensation & Benefits:
  • $70,000 – $80,000
