A growing industrial supply organization is seeking an experienced Purchasing Specialist to support procurement activities for precision components used within manufacturing environments. This role will be responsible for sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, and ensuring timely procurement of products that meet quality and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities:
  • Source and procure industrial components and hardware from domestic and international suppliers.
  • Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations to support sales and operational teams.
  • Create and manage purchase orders for new and existing product lines.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and supply agreements to improve overall cost efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for supplier consolidation and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
  • Collaborate with engineering, sales, and operations teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and inventory-related data within company systems.
  • Assist in resolving supply chain disruptions and vendor-related issues.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience purchasing industrial hardware, metal components, fasteners, or similar manufactured products.
  • Strong understanding of procurement and supply chain best practices.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and specifications such as ISO, DIN, SAE, ASME, or equivalent.
  • Experience working within an ERP or MRP environment.
  • Proven ability to evaluate supplier quotes and make sound sourcing decisions.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience supporting automotive manufacturing or related industrial sectors is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
Preferred Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience reviewing and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Minimum 2 years of purchasing or sourcing industrial fasteners, metal components, or related products.
  • Experience working with suppliers in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Knowledge of inventory planning, forecasting, and supplier management.
Hours:
  • Monday to Friday (8am to 5pm)
  • Onsite
Compensation & Benefits:
  • $65,000 – $75,000
