We are seeking a professional Senior Payroll Accountant to join a growing team in Fountain Inn, SC. This is a full time, temporary/temporary to hire position.

Responsibilities
  • Support U.S. payroll operations by ensuring payroll processes and financial records are accurate, compliant, and completed on schedule
  • Review federal, state, and local payroll tax filings, wage reporting documents, and related payroll tax records for accuracy and compliance
  • Prepare and reconcile payroll-related journal entries and ensure alignment between payroll systems and the general ledger
  • Perform monthly payroll account reconciliations, including payroll bank account reconciliations
  • Coordinate and support payroll-related audits, including workers’ compensation, retirement plan, financial, and regulatory audits
  • Research payroll tax implications for special payments, employee benefits, and compensation programs
  • Assist with payroll processing activities as needed and review complex or special payments for accuracy
  • Maintain, document, and improve payroll procedures, internal controls, and compliance processes
  • Generate regular and ad hoc payroll, financial, and management reports for stakeholders
  • Partner with finance leadership to analyze payroll variances, support budgeting and forecasting efforts, and assist with month-end and year-end close activities
  • Support payroll system maintenance, testing, and enhancements within the company’s HRIS and payroll platforms
  • Administer payroll-related transactions associated with equity or stock-based compensation programs
  • Stay informed on changing payroll laws and regulations and recommend process updates to maintain compliance
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of payroll experience in a multi-state environment
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (such as Workday or similar platforms)
  • Experience with payroll audits and internal control processes
Compensation & Additional Information:
  • $33 -$38 hourly
  • 100% onsite
