Overview
Our client is seeking an Information Technology Specialist to provide day-to-day helpdesk support while assisting with security operations. The position includes managing and supporting hardware, software, user accounts, email systems, networking, physical security items, and IT support tickets.
In addition to operational support, the position contributes to security monitoring and policy enforcement efforts. Responsibilities include assisting with security alerts and remediations, Group Policy management, phishing testing, and documentation. The role requires strong Windows and Microsoft ecosystem knowledge, familiarity with Active Directory and basic networking concepts, solid communication skills, and a willingness to learn new technologies.
Responsibilities
- Provide hardware and software support for end users (Windows 11, PCs, laptops, printers, peripherals).
- Troubleshoot and resolve helpdesk tickets; escalate when needed.
- Set up, image, and rebuild workstations; decommission hardware as needed.
- Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and physical access credentials.
- Support email systems and assist with phishing/spam review.
- Assist with Group Policy updates, antivirus alerts, and security remediations.
- Participate in phishing testing and end-user security training initiatives.
- Help maintain IT and security documentation.
- Support internal systems related to networking, servers, and physical security.
- Assist with outages, system updates, and IT/security projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience with Windows 11 configuration and hardware troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Exchange.
- Hands-on experience with ADUC and basic Group Policy tasks.
- Basic understanding of DNS, DHCP, file/print servers, and networking fundamentals.
- Strong communication skills and customer service mindset.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks with limited oversight.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies and security concepts.
Preferred
- Degree in IT or related field (or equivalent experience).
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certifications.
