Overview

We are seeking a Cloud & Systems Administrator to support and evolve a hybrid IT environment spanning Microsoft Azure and on-premises infrastructure. This role is hands-on and operational, focused on system reliability, security, performance, and cost efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring strong Azure administration experience, solid systems fundamentals, and the ability to work independently in a mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain Azure IaaS and hybrid cloud solutions (VMs, networking, storage, backup, DR)
  • Administer Azure services including Virtual Machines, VNets, Azure Storage/Files, Azure Backup, and Site Recovery
  • Manage hybrid identity and access (Azure AD/Entra ID, on-prem AD, AD Connect, SSO, MFA, Conditional Access)
  • Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Splunk, and traditional tools
  • Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Perform Azure cost analysis and optimization
  • Maintain on-prem systems including Windows/Linux servers, VMware, Nutanix HCI, and backup platforms
  • Implement security best practices in collaboration with IT security
  • Support patching, upgrades, lifecycle management, and DR readiness
  • Act as senior technical contributor on projects and mentor junior staff as needed
  • Support 24×7 operational readiness

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2–5 years of progressive systems and cloud administration experience
  • 2+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure experience
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Azure infrastructure and networking (VPNs, NSGs, firewalls, VNet peering)
  • Windows Server, Linux Server, Active Directory, Group Policy
  • PowerShell scripting
  • Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-500) strongly preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills

Additional Details

  • Hybrid/onsite schedule in Summerville SC; candidates must live near the Charleston, SC area
  • This position will need the ability to access US only data systems; U.S. Citizenship required
