Location: Remote in Charleston, SC (on-site required roughly once a week)

Schedule: Part-time (10–20 hours/week)

Pay Rate: $30–$40/hr (6+ month contract)
 

Overview
Our client is seeking a hands-on IT Specialist to support their Charleston office and their remote U.S. employees. This role is responsible for hardware setup, troubleshooting, and day-to-day IT support to ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate has strong experience with Apple devices and macOS environments, along with a proactive, service-oriented approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide end-user IT support (hardware, software, and connectivity issues)
  • Set up and configure laptops, applications, and peripherals for new hires
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with Apple devices (MacBooks, iMacs, etc.)
  • Support remote employees using tools like Zoom or TeamViewer
  • Manage hardware inventory and track company devices
  • Assist with basic security, VPN access, and policy compliance
  • Coordinate equipment procurement and deployment

Qualifications

  • 2–3+ years of IT support or helpdesk experience
  • Strong experience supporting macOS and Apple hardware
  • Hands-on experience with device setup and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with remote support tools
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work on-site in Charleston as needed

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Jamf or other MDM tools
  • Knowledge of VPN setup and basic networking
  • IT certifications (CompTIA A+ or similar)
