Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate all purchasing activities, ensuring alignment with operational and commercial objectives
- Guide and support the purchasing team while maintaining accountability for results
- Source and evaluate supplier pricing to support customer quotes and new program launches
- Create and manage purchase orders for new product introductions and ongoing production
- Lead commercial discussions with global suppliers to optimize pricing, lead times, and contract terms
- Monitor supplier performance and drive improvements based on quality, delivery, and cost metrics
- Handle supplier non-conformances, claims, and escalation processes
- Identify and execute cost-reduction opportunities and value-added initiatives
- 4+ years of direct purchasing experience for metric fasteners within the automotive sector
- Demonstrated success managing suppliers and conducting commercial negotiations
- Hands-on experience using MRP systems in a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of IATF 16949 / TS 16949 standards and expectations
- Strong understanding of automotive production and supply chain processes
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications, from straightforward to advanced
- Familiarity with global and public standards such as ISO, DIN, ASME, and SAE
