An automotive manufacturing company in Greer is looking for a  results-driven Purchasing Manager to oversee sourcing activities and supplier partnerships. This role will play a key part in ensuring reliable supply, competitive cost structures, and continuous improvement across the supplier base, with a strong focus on fasteners and precision components.

Responsibilities: 
  • Oversee and coordinate all purchasing activities, ensuring alignment with operational and commercial objectives
  • Guide and support the purchasing team while maintaining accountability for results
  • Source and evaluate supplier pricing to support customer quotes and new program launches
  • Create and manage purchase orders for new product introductions and ongoing production
  • Lead commercial discussions with global suppliers to optimize pricing, lead times, and contract terms
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive improvements based on quality, delivery, and cost metrics
  • Handle supplier non-conformances, claims, and escalation processes
  • Identify and execute cost-reduction opportunities and value-added initiatives
Qualifications: 
  • 4+ years of direct purchasing experience for metric fasteners within the automotive sector
  • Demonstrated success managing suppliers and conducting commercial negotiations
  • Hands-on experience using MRP systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of IATF 16949 / TS 16949 standards and expectations
  • Strong understanding of automotive production and supply chain processes
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications, from straightforward to advanced
  • Familiarity with global and public standards such as ISO, DIN, ASME, and SAE
