A law firm based out of Greenville, SC is seeking an experienced Legal Billing Specialist to join their team.  The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in legal billing, preferably in insurance defense, a strong work ethic, and excellent attention to detail. This position is remote, but must be able to commute onsite on occasion for company events, etc. 
Ideally this person will be located in the southeast US. 


Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, review, and submit accurate and timely legal invoices in accordance with client guidelines and firm standards
  • Manage electronic billing systems and resolve submission issues
  • Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on outstanding invoices, and coordinate with attorneys and clients to facilitate payment
  • Review billing cuts, reductions, and rejections; identify trends and recommend corrective actions
  • Communicate with attorneys regarding billing compliance, time entry, and narrative requirements
  • Maintain accurate billing records and support month-end and year-end financial processes
  • Provide excellent internal and external customer service related to billing inquiries
Qualifications:
  • Prior experience as a legal billing specialist, preferably within an insurance defense law firm
  • Strong understanding of insurance carrier billing guidelines and compliance requirements
  • Experience with electronic billing platforms and legal billing software
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
  • Ability to manage multiple invoices and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and follow-up skills
  • Familiarity with reviewing and responding to billing cuts and appeals
  • Experience working remotely in a law firm environment
  • Knowledge of legal accounting and accounts receivable best practices
Compensation and Benefits:
  • $65,000 – $80,000/yr
