A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Defense Paralegal to support a high-volume legal practice. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment while playing a key role in case management, client communication, and legal document preparation. Location: Greenville, SC.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to attorneys handling workers’ compensation defense matters
- Maintain organized case files, including filing, scanning, copying, and document management
- Coordinate schedules for depositions, hearings, and key deadlines; ensure all critical dates are tracked and met
- Draft, review, and edit legal documents and correspondence with a high degree of accuracy
- Prepare and organize medical records; develop detailed medical summaries
- Assist with discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories and subpoenas
- Conduct legal research to support case needs
- Communicate professionally with clients, claims adjusters, medical providers, and outside counsel
- Manage incoming calls, correspondence, and general administrative tasks
- Ensure timely completion of assignments and accurate case tracking using firm systems
Required:
- Prior experience in workers’ compensation law
- Mid-level paralegal experience, preferably in a law firm setting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and analytical skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies or related field
- Experience in workers’ compensation defense
- Familiarity with case management or billing/time-tracking software
- Demonstrated stability in work history and strong multitasking abilities
- $55,000-$75,000 based on experience
