Overview:

A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Defense Paralegal to support a high-volume legal practice. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment while playing a key role in case management, client communication, and legal document preparation. Location: Greenville, SC.


Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to attorneys handling workers’ compensation defense matters
  • Maintain organized case files, including filing, scanning, copying, and document management
  • Coordinate schedules for depositions, hearings, and key deadlines; ensure all critical dates are tracked and met
  • Draft, review, and edit legal documents and correspondence with a high degree of accuracy
  • Prepare and organize medical records; develop detailed medical summaries
  • Assist with discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories and subpoenas
  • Conduct legal research to support case needs
  • Communicate professionally with clients, claims adjusters, medical providers, and outside counsel
  • Manage incoming calls, correspondence, and general administrative tasks
  • Ensure timely completion of assignments and accurate case tracking using firm systems
 
Qualifications:
Required:
  • Prior experience in workers’ compensation law
  • Mid-level paralegal experience, preferably in a law firm setting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
 
Preferred:
  • Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies or related field
  • Experience in workers’ compensation defense
  • Familiarity with case management or billing/time-tracking software
  • Demonstrated stability in work history and strong multitasking abilities
 
Compensation & Benefits:
  • $55,000-$75,000 based on experience
