Overview:

Our client is seeking a Workflow Analyst to join their team, focused on building and improving automated processes that support inventory movement, data transfers, and other operational workflows. This role requires technical proficiency in SQL, Python, and Excel, with an emphasis on developing scripts, procedures, and tools that improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. The analyst will work with file transfers, APIs, and existing codified processes to ingest, transform, validate, and move data between internal and external systems.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable investigating data and process issues, troubleshooting failures, refactoring code, and translating recurring operational needs into automated solutions. The role may include some ticket support and hands-on process work, but its primary focus is on process automation, technical problem-solving, and continuous improvement. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to understand business requirements and turn them into reliable technical solutions are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain automated workflows that support business operations
  • Write and enhance Python scripts and SQL queries/procedures
  • Build solutions that automate repetitive manual processes
  • Analyze and troubleshoot workflow failures, data issues, and system exceptions
  • Validate, transform, and move data between internal and external systems
  • Support file transfers, API integrations, and automated reporting processes
  • Investigate root causes of recurring issues and implement long-term solutions
  • Refactor and improve existing code for reliability, maintainability, and performance
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to identify automation opportunities
  • Participate in testing, implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Manage work within Jira and Agile/Scrum environments

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Analytics, MIS, or a related technical field
  • Experience with Python programming
  • Experience writing SQL queries
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to learn new technologies and business processes quickly
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of APIs and data integrations
  • Experience with Git, Bitbucket, or version control tools
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Experience with automation, scripting, or ETL processes
  • Internship, academic, or professional experience involving software development or data management
  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues and identifying root causes.
