A well-established financial institution is seeking an Accounting Operations Support Specialist in Simpsonville, SC to support both accounting and back-office operations. This is a full time, permanent/direct hire position with full benefits. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a Credit Union or financial institution and will have 3+ years of relevant accounting and operations experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Process and support daily ACH transactions, settlements, disputes, and payment-related activities
  • Review and reconcile accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies
  • Assist with accounts payable functions, invoice processing, reimbursements, and general ledger coding
  • Support back-office operations including wires, stop payments, debit card disputes, ATM settlements, and share draft processing
  • Perform account and corporate account reconciliations while maintaining strong internal controls
  • Coordinate with third-party accounting vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Assist with general accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end support
  • Monitor transaction exceptions, research issues, and meet critical daily processing deadlines
  • Support regulatory and operational compliance requirements related to payment systems and financial operations
  • Contribute ideas and process improvements that enhance efficiency, member service, and operational effectiveness
  • Serve as a backup support resource for front-line member services when needed
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required), Associates or Bachelors Degree (Preferred)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in banking, credit union operations, payment processing, ACH, or related financial services environments
  • Credit union experience strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Hours:
  • Monday to Friday (8am to 5pm)
  • 100% ONSITE
Compensation & Benefits:
  • $19 to $29 hourly (Based on Experience)
